Carob Health support

Write to support@anteresoftware.com. We answer within two business days.

When you write, tell us your phone model, OS version and the App version (Settings → About), and what you did before the problem. Please don't send your backup file or screenshots of medical data unless we ask — we don't need them, and we'd rather not have them.

I forgot my PIN

There is no reset: your PIN is not stored anywhere, so neither the App nor we can recover it. If you have a backup, delete the App's data (or reinstall), then restore the backup. If you don't, the only option is to start over. This is the price of the App never sending anything out — we think it's worth it, but it means a backup is not optional.

I forgot my backup passphrase

The backup cannot be opened without it, by anyone. Make a fresh backup from the App with a new passphrase and keep the passphrase somewhere safe — a password manager is a good place.

Moving to a new phone

On the old phone: Settings → Export encrypted backup, choose a passphrase, save the .mhb file to Files, Drive, iCloud Drive or send it to yourself. On the new phone: install the App, go to Settings → Restore from backup, open the file, enter the passphrase. Everything comes across: records, documents, reminders. The PIN and biometric setting are not part of the backup, so you set them again.

Reminders don't arrive

Check that notifications are allowed for Carob Health in your phone's settings. On Android, also allow "Alarms and reminders" (exact alarms) and exclude the App from battery optimisation; some manufacturers (Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung, OnePlus) have an extra "autostart" or "background activity" switch that must be on. On iOS, make sure Focus modes aren't silencing the App.

Recognised text is wrong

Recognition runs on your device and works best with a sharp, well-lit photo taken straight on. Fields the App isn't sure about are marked; always check them against the packaging. You can edit anything after scanning.

Deleting my data

Settings → Delete everything. This removes the database, document files, encryption keys, settings and scheduled reminders, and returns the App to its first-launch state. Uninstalling the App does the same. Backup files you saved elsewhere are yours to delete separately.

Where is my data?

On your phone, encrypted, and nowhere else. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
